Why improve shoulder awareness?

With better shoulder awareness, it's easier to find good posture. It's also easier to use your arms effectively and also stretch them.


Shoulder exercises you can practice anywhere

Shoulder exercises for flexibility and awareness teaches you active shoulder exercises that improve your ability fo feel your shoulders and control them.

The standing exercises can be practiced anywhere and you can also use them to help improve your posture.

(An important part of improving posture is feeling your spine and ribcage. If you can feel and control those, then the next step is to learn your shoulders… or you can learn your shoulders first…)


If you isolate your shoulders, it's easier to integrate them

Just as importantly you'll learn to feel how your shoulders and ribcage (and neck) can be used together. But, to do that it helps if you learn to feel them in relative isolation.

Moving slowly and smoothly makes it easier to overcome any unconscious movement habits. You are not so much in automatic mode and that makes it easier to explore your body and learn it. additionally, you'll learn not only to activate your shoulder but relax them. 

And the smoothness component you can also carry quite easily into doing shoulder movements quickly.

The really nice thing about these shoulder exercises is that you can carry the awareness and control you learn from them into anything that you do.
